Spaces, Assets, Technology, and the Post-Covid Facility World
On October 16-17, 2023, the Tradeline Conference on Space Strategies convened in Boston, bringing together asset owners from higher education, healthcare, and government. The spotlight was on new processes and technologies such as digital twins, Building Information Modeling (BIM), sensors, and process capture, aimed at adapting facility management to post-Covid and environmental changes. Kimon Onuma and Cyril Verley conducted impromptu lobby interviews, with a key question being: "What is an asset to your organization?" They later recorded a presentation titled "Harvesting BIM to Build Informed Environments," exploring the role of BIM in adapting to evolving space utilization needs.
